Sterling / Home integration
Monroe, GA and the surrounding markets
Home integration for custom homes in Monroe, GA.
Lighting, shading, audio, video, cameras, and entry, all on one interface instead of a phone full of apps. Designed at the blueprint, installed before the drywall closes.
Sterling is a certified Control4 dealer working alongside Nehemiah Construction on custom homes across Monroe and the surrounding North Georgia markets. Home integration is the largest part of that work: the systems a homeowner actually lives with every day, controlled from one interface instead of ten separate apps. This page is the starting point for that whole category, each system below has its own detailed page, and this one is where the pieces come together into a single, coordinated scope.
What’s included
Nine systems, one interface.
Most homes take some of each, not all of it. We scope to what the house and the homeowner actually need, then design the rest so it is easy to add later.
Control4 systems
One certified interface for lighting, audio, video, and climate.
Centralized lighting
Keypads and scenes. A five gang wall becomes a two gang.
Motorized shades
Shading that moves with the light and with the scenes.
Whole-home audio
Sonos and in-ceiling. Music by zone, not by speaker.
Home theater
Media rooms and dedicated theaters, drawn on the plan.
Video distribution
One source to every screen. Any camera on any TV.
Security cameras
Coverage that reads a plate at the gate, not a blur.
Gate and intercom
Video keypads at the drive, answered from inside the house.
Climate control
Thermostats that follow arrival, away, and night.
Working in Monroe
Home base, and the center of most of our schedule.
Monroe is where Sterling and Nehemiah Construction are both based, which means most blueprint reviews, rough-in work, and trim walkthroughs happen here first. It is also where a homeowner is most likely to get the fastest turnaround if a system needs service later. Being home base is not a marketing line, it shows up in practical terms, a shorter gap between a first phone call and a blueprint review meeting, and less travel time between a rough-in visit here and whatever else is on the crew’s schedule that week.
Custom builds in Monroe run in the same $1M to $5M range as our other markets, and the same standard applies: one team from blueprint through year three, and one dealer of record on the Control4 system for as long as it runs. Nothing about being close to home base changes that standard, it simply means Monroe is where we execute it most often and most efficiently.
How it comes together
One scope, not nine separate purchases.
A homeowner rarely starts a conversation by asking for centralized lighting specifically, or a Control4 system by name. They start by describing how they want the house to feel, quiet and easy to run, with lights, music, and temperature that respond to the day rather than requiring a phone full of separate apps. Sterling’s job at blueprint review is translating that description into the right combination of systems from the list above, scoped to the home and the budget, not sold as an upsell one service at a time. Home base in Monroe is where that conversation happens most often, and where the process has been refined the longest, which is part of why blueprint review here tends to move efficiently even for a first-time client.
The nine systems above rarely get bought one at a time. Most homes combine four or five of them into a single plan, designed together rather than layered on as separate decisions.
What we install
Control4, Lutron, Ubiquiti, Sonos, and Sony, run through one interface.
Sterling builds every home integration project on Control4 as the interface, with Lutron for lighting, Ubiquiti for networking, and Sonos or Sony for audio and video, matched to whichever thermostat brand fits the home. None of these brands are visible to the homeowner day to day, they show up as one touchscreen, one app, and one number to call, which is the entire point of building the system this way instead of buying each piece separately.
Common questions
About home integration in Monroe, specifically.
Do we need all nine systems, or can we start with a few?
Almost nobody starts with all nine. We scope the project to what the house and the homeowner actually want, and design the rest so it is easy to add later without redoing what is already there. Structured wiring and Control4 form the near-universal foundation, everything else gets layered on top based on how the home will actually be used day to day.
Does being based in Monroe mean Monroe projects get priority?
Every project, regardless of market, gets the same blueprint-first process and the same standard of work. What Monroe does get is the shortest distance between our crew and the jobsite, which tends to make scheduling a little more flexible here than in our farther markets.
How do we know which of the nine systems our home actually needs?
That is what blueprint review is for. We walk the plan with you and the architect, talk through how the house will actually be used, and recommend a scope based on that conversation rather than a fixed package. Some homes end up needing six systems, others need three, and neither is treated as more or less of a priority project.
Can Sterling coordinate directly with our Nehemiah project team?
Yes, and for most Monroe projects that coordination is already built into the schedule. Sterling and Nehemiah run blueprint review together for these builds, so there is no separate introduction or handoff required.
What if we already have a system in Monroe that another company installed?
We can assess what is there and, in most cases, take over as dealer of record so the system can actually be serviced and updated going forward. The full detail on that process lives on our Control4 service and repair page, which covers what a takeover involves regardless of which market the home is in, from the first assessment through getting the system stabilized.
